NEWSLETTER JULY 2013

THE BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF MARBELLA – BAM

NEWSLETTER JULY 2013

Joan and I would like to thank all members who have shown great concern over the health of our son Mark. The good news is that the Stroke has left very little signs of physical damage and that his Achilles tendon fracture has now been confirmed as well on its way to be fully functional, subject to regular physiotherapy.

The June BAM monthly lunch was held on June, 27th at Bodega El Duende. During the event we were able to celebrate the marriage of our members Jan Roast and Malcolm Honey. Many thanks go to Violette, Fran and Angret for handling and arranging another great event and for the help given in ensuring that both the April and May BAM lunches were enjoyed.

The July BAM monthly lunch is to be held on July, 25th at Restaurante El Capitan. Please contact Joan, 952835947, or Violette, 952828988, at the latest by Monday July, 22nd, if you want to attend the lunch. The cost for the three course lunch, which includes the tip but not a drink, will be €11. Note; those who do not pre-book are not guaranteed a place. Attached is a copy of the menu, being offered for the BAM lunch, which will commence at 1.30pm for 2.00pm, as usual. You may make your choices from the menu on the day.

Reminder, until further notice the coffee morning on Wednesdays will be at the café within the Marbella Pensionista, 11 Calle de Juan Ramón Jiménez, Marbella. Although we have been made very welcome, we are still looking for a quieter place for the coffee morning preferably outside during this beautiful weather.

Reminder: It has been brought to my attention that Aspandem runs a Garden Centre in Urbanizacion Nueva Andalucía, close to the Iglesa La Campana, to raise funds and also has a Charity shop at 22 Calle Marques de Estella, opposite the municipal Police Station. See Fran for further information and specific location details.

Many thanks are given to Eva, who has created and constantly updates a new website and Facebook entry for BAM. Any ideas for additional content would be appreciated.
